The Satisfaction Behind Kristen Meyers Geometrical Photos
A strange phenomenon has taken hold of YouTube, Twitter and Instagram in recent years. Videos with random titles, with "random" content on paper but, for reasons that elude us, give us a deep satisfaction. For some reason we just can't keep our eyes of this videos!
If these three GIFs seemed particularly pleasing to you, you're deffinitely drawn by oddly satisfying videos. Although these videos and photos don't have common features at first, they all seem to relieve some psychological itch in their perfection. It's from this sensation that comes their qualification of "strangely satisfying".
One of the most aesthetic artists of this movement is Kristen Meyer. Based in New Haven, Connecticut, this photographer and designer has mastered the art of staging the different materials that come to hand. From leaves, to pieces of wood to small pebbles or shells, she painstakingly places these elements to create flat-lays with perfect geometric shapes. A long process but the result of which gives a series of photos of an impressive precision.
