Sarah Maple A Bold, Brave But Controversial Visual Artist

Sarah Maple, recently chosen to display her work at the 'Not 30%' exhibition, is a visual artist known for her witty, playful and controversial pieces. She deals with taboo subjects such as religion, a topic which particularly resonates with her. It is through her images that she learnt to embrace her cultural background and to speak up for inequalities in society. She doesn’t put up answers, but poses questions for society to dwell on.

Gerda Taro, The Forgotten Photojournalist

Today, Google is honoring Gerda Taro’s 108th birthday for the recognition of her  time as a female wartime photographer with a Google Doodle as shown above. she is regarded as the first female to shoot on the front lines of conflict (as well as the first to die while doing so).
