NASA Releases New Impressive Footage of the Moon In 4K

You may be used to seeing a virtual tour of an apartment or of the street on Google maps but never would you have ever thought that today you would be watching a virtual tour of the moon! NASA has released a virtual tour video of the Moon in 4K. The images, from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter ship, are incredibly breathtaking. The video goes around our satellite like never before. A feeling and images that you can't unsee. The details collected over the last 6 years show a representation of the Moon than ever before.

Ernie Wright of NASA's Space Visualization Studio explains, "The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter's tour has visited a number of interesting sites chosen to illustrate the variety of the lunar terrain. Some are on the visible side and familiar to professional and amateur observers, but others from the hidden side of the moon can only be seen clearly from space."

This intense study of the Moon illustrates a renewed interest of international space agencies for the exploration of the Moon. SpaceX plans to use the Moon as an intermediate base before traveling to Mars, but also to send tourists for a week-long Moon Tour!! Are you ready?
