Photographs of Plastic Bags or Mountains?

One of the aspects of a photographer's work is to see things as nobody else sees them, to capture them and show them in a new light. They present us all these little details which we don't usually pay attention to. Wenjie Ang does just that. This Singaporean artist has managed to create mysterious landscapes through... recycled plastic bags. He says about his approach that "The destruction of natural beauty, ecosystems and the majesty of the mountains affects us in ways that we are not even aware of. Every time a mountain is decapitated, we cut a small part of our souls."

Ecological accents mixed with talent and creativity, the series was born. It seems as if he explores what seem to be caves or mountains. However, these are actually plastic bags lit by a desk lamp. At the end of the process, he adds the silhouette of the hiker to bring more depth to his scenes and this impression of space. You then discover the result: a hidden world with fascinating shadows.
